The Bunker

Orlando Bunker exists to honor the service and sacrifice of America’s military veterans by preserving their history, supporting active-duty military personnel, veterans, and their families, and serving Central Florida through education, outreach, charitable service, and historical preservation. Through the Cpl. Larry E. Smedley National Vietnam War Museum and our community programs, we connect the legacy of yesterday’s heroes with the needs of today’s community—ensuring their stories inspire future generations while making a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve today.

Vietnam & All Veterans of Central Florida

The mission of Vietnam and All Veterans of Central Florida is to honor the service and sacrifice of Vietnam veterans and all United States military veterans by preserving their legacy, supporting veterans and their families, educating the public, promoting patriotism, and strengthening our community through fellowship, advocacy, outreach, and service. Guided by respect, integrity, compassion, and unity, we are committed to ensuring that every veteran is remembered, valued, and never forgotten.

Bunker Riders

Our mission is to bring motorcycle enthusiasts together in a fun, family-friendly environment that fosters friendship, respect, and responsible riding while proudly supporting and promoting The Bunker and the veteran community. We are committed to creating a welcoming community where members enjoy the freedom of the open road, build lasting friendships, and participate in rides and events that strengthen our organization and honor those who have served.

The Bunker Riders are a neutral riding group—not a motorcycle club (MC)—and will never seek MC status or wear motorcycle club support patches. We welcome all riders who share our values of respect, integrity, and fellowship. All makes and models of motorcycles with a minimum engine size of 750cc are welcome.

We are committed to treating every member and guest with dignity and respect and do not discriminate on the basis of race, sex, religion, creed, color, national origin, or sexual orientation.

Larry E. Smedley Museum

The museum is named in honor of Corporal Larry Eugene Smedley, who was born on March 4, 1949 in Front Royal, Virginia. He attended Howard Junior High School in Union Park Florida, leaving in 1964. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on March 18, 1966 in Orlando, Florida.

Current Mission: Replace Our Museum Roof

The Cpl. Larry E. Smedley National Vietnam War Museum has preserved the stories and sacrifices of America’s veterans for years. Today, the museum needs your help.

Our roof has reached the end of its service life and must be replaced to protect the priceless artifacts, exhibits, and historical collections entrusted to our care.

CONFESSION: Last Saturday was my first real motorcycle ride…

A sincere thank you to the Bunker Rider Club for inviting me to their 5th Annual Christmas in July Ride to raise awareness and gather donations for homeless veterans in Orange County.

The group was generous, welcoming, and showed a deep commitment to serving those who served our country. Our motorcycle caravan rode to VFW Post 5405, VFW Post 10139, and the NAM Knights in Bithlo, enjoying music and raising funds through silent auctions at each stop. Thank you to everyone for sharing their stories and reasons why they are involved in this important work.

The Larry E. Smedley Vietnam War Museum is 100% volunteer-led and funded by its nonprofit arm, the Bunker Orlando. They are currently raising money for a new roof for their museum. Please support them if you are able so we can create a county that cares for all of its veterans. And, if you haven’t been to their museum check it out!
